About Kristina
Kristina Gilbert is a Licensed Professional Counselor & Behavior Analyst Technician in Richmond, VA. For over 20 years, she has been providing services to children (2 years and older) through adults on the Autism Spectrum in outpatient, medical hospital settings, therapeutic day treatment settings, and intensive in-home.
In addition, she has experience with medically complicated cases, uncommon diagnoses (Smith Magenis Syndrome and PANDAS) and childhood/developmental diagnoses like: ADHD, ODD, Pathological Demand Avoidance, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Attachment Disorders, Enuresis, Encopresis, and Schizophrenia. This includes clients with learning disabilities, motor disorders, deaf-blind, intellectual disabilities, and communication delays.
Graduating from Loyola College in Maryland with a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and basic training in psychological testing, she has been able to utilize her knowledge of testing to further facilitate treatment plan creation and delivery of services to those with cognitive challenges. Early training was received through the Behavioral Psychology Department at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland as an outpatient therapist for 5 years.
Other areas of training include trauma informed counseling in intensive in-home settings and Clinical Supervision for Medicaid funding sources.
