“No matter how slow, how small, or how wobbly, forward is forward and every step counts.”
I love this saying. Life, relationships, careers can all feel overwhelming at times and it’s easy to start believing that change is impossible or just too hard. With that mindset, a person never starts, and life gets more and more bogged down. It doesn’t have to be that way and slow starts (like calling to set up an appointment with me) can be that first step. I have been treating clients for 30-plus years and have witnessed the growth and changes made by many courageous clients (who didn’t necessarily start out that way). It’s what keeps me loving what I do.
“One size doesn’t fit all” is a sort of mantra for Aspect. I approach clients with an array of resources and options for treatment. Some may want a Cognitive Behavioral approach. Others may only want support and affirmation. Some want to pursue traumas based on events from the past and a journey through childhood may be the path taken. “Couples” come in many forms and genders, marriage, domestic partnership. What they all have in common is the desire to be seen and heard and to open the pathways to what they once shared.
I currently work with people ages 35 and older. I also enjoy working with an often-neglected senior population as they explore stages of life. This often involves various types of loss, illness, and anxiety about the future. I’ve worked in the hospice field and am comfortable helping people through illness and loss.
Humor is often a part of a session. My personal interests include gardening, my cats and dogs, travel, and music. I would be happy to meet with you to see if we are a good match and to develop a plan to create a more satisfying life.
